Need help with taxes? Appointments are available a couple days a week and run through April 15. We are presently scheduling appointments for Monday, April 12. The tax preparers are able to e-file your return for a quicker response. Donations can be made to the Friends of the Milwaukie Center. Don't delay, call 503-653-8100 to schedule your appointment.
Fifth Annual March for Meals Campaign
March 1-31
During the entire month of March, businesses from all over North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District are supporting the March for Meals campaign. Since 2006, March for Meals has raised thousands of dollars for the Milwaukie Center Meals on Wheels program, so "No Senior goes Hungry." Corporate sponsors include: Bob's Red Mill, Nature Bake-Dave's Killer Bread, Clackamas Federal Credit Union, New Seasons Market- Happy Valley and Burgerville in Gladstone.

This year's theme is "Celebrating Spring". We'd love for you to share your special quilts. Quilt Acceptance Dates: Wed, March 3, 10 am-2 pm; Sat, March 6, 10 am-3 pm; Tue, March 9, 5-8 pm. Raffle tickets for the "Chelsea Garden" raffle quilt (74" x 83") are $1 each or 6 for $5. Lunch is available both days. Homemade soups and snacks are available for purchase.

Healthy Aging Workshop - Superfoods: Boost your Health from Head to Toe

Leah Kriewall, registered dietician and nutritionist from New Seasons Market, will be the presenter. She'll speak about the importance of nutrition oSociety in the early n mental performance and what foods to eat to enhance your mood and memory. She'll also discuss the importance of eating seasonally, as well as what locally-grown food has to offer.

Commuting by Bicycle

Become part of the 10 percent of people in the region getting around by bicycle, be it commuting, grocery runs or errands. Join instructor Joe Marke, a seasoned northwest cyclist, as he shares his perspective about bicycles, equipment, routes, attitude and other ways to break down barriers that can prevent you from riding. The presentation will also highlight the benefits of cycling including getting exercise, cutting down on traffic and using less fossil fuels.
Volunteer Recognition

The Parks District is planning a special party to honor our volunteers. A casino theme, featuring black jack and roulette, is planned with special on-stage entertainment "Las Vegas" style. Fabulous door prizes and yummy refreshments are also a part of this day.
